AutoZone Park Listed As Tops in the Minors 04/06/2009 4:23 PM ETBy Ben Spradling / Memphis Redbirds
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - In their April 6-19, edition, Baseball America lists AutoZone Park as No. 1 on their list of the nation's Top 10 Minor League Ballparks. This year's rankings were judged by a pool of "ballpark experts," including minor league officials, architects and promoters, examining areas such as ballpark atmosphere and character. Referred to as the "Taj Mahal of minor league baseball," AutoZone Park is noted as having some of the premiere facilities in the minors, consisting of the park's first-class clubhouses, the largest LED video board in the minors, two levels of club suites and first rate open-air party decks. Listed alongside AutoZone Park was The Dell Diamond at No. 2, home of fellow Pacific Coast League members, the Round Rock Express. AutoZone Park and the Redbirds will host Oklahoma City for 2009 Opening Day on Thursday in the first game of a four-game series.
